Core Learning Method

City Prep seeks to implement an instructional model that tailors the learning experience for our students, identifying each student’s strengths and assets, uncovering and removing obstacles to learning; and catapulting them towards their personal best. The blended learning model integrates face-to-face classroom time with on-line learning (facilitated at all times by a classroom teacher), combining the effectiveness and socialization of the classroom with technologically enhanced on-line materials. It benefits students by offering courses that would not otherwise be available at the school (such as AP and college level classes) and benefits teachers by providing almost instant student assessments and the opportunity for individualized professional development.

We believe that with blended instruction under the City Prep model, City Prep will ensure that underprepared students get up to speed and on track quickly; that students be engaged in their learning experience; that students are encouraged to take ownership of their education in a meaningful way which extends beyond secondary education.
